The Secret Trick to Lose Weight with Potatoes: Potato Diet Plan for Fast Results

The Potato Diet – a Miracle Worker?

With our lives incredibly sedentary and hectic schedules, most of us just don’t have the time to exercises regularly. That’s a big problem and not just from an aesthetical point of view. Extra weight doesn’t just ruin your appearance – it’s a source of a variety of disorders.

Here’s what excess weight can do to your health:

  • Increases high blood pressure
  • Raises the levels of LDL cholesterol
  • Clogs your arteries
  • Skyrockets the risk of heart disease and stroke

And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Weight gain and obesity is becoming a big problem worldwide and it seems that it will only get worse with time.

However, people are still not committing to healthy diets and regular exercise enough. Everyone’s pinning their hopes on diets, but there are so many out there that either don’t work or put your health at risk.

There are some, though, that miraculously work without starving yourself the death. Enter the potato diet.

Does the Potato Diet Really Work?

This groundbreaking diet claims that you’ll be able to lose around ½ a kg. of weight per day if you only eat potatoes for at least 3-5 days. It has already been tried by many people and even celebrities. Potato diet results show that it’s nothing short of amazing, especially when compared to other diets.

Famous comedian and magician Penn Jillette famously used it to shed a massive amount of weight a few years back. Then there’s potato diet-superstar Andrew Flinders Taylor who shed 117 pounds in a year by eating nothing but potatoes.

It seems too good to be true, but the diet has already helped a lot of people shed titanic amounts of weight.

The concept truly took off in 2016 after Tim Steele released a book on it. Named “Potato Hack: Weight Loss Simplified”, the author says that it’s the best diet pill he invented.

Although it surely feels and looks like a crash diet, make no mistake – it’s a diet that’s nutritious and healthy at the same time. You won’t go starving for days and you won’t put your health at risk.

There’s plenty of evidence that the diet really works even though many are suspicious of it.

Potato Diet Rules

Unlike many others, the potato diet comes with a pretty simple list of instructions. As expected, you can only eat potatoes for its duration. Cooked, not fried, of course. You can eat anywhere between 900 gr. and over 2 kg. of cooked potatoes per day plain and with no toppings.

Water, black coffee, and tea are allowed when you’re thirsty. You shouldn’t exercise hard for the duration of the diet, but light exercise is recommended.

There are a few variants of the diet that involve special types of potatoes. However, it’s best to stick to the original.

What Are the Benefits?

Oh, there are many benefits of this seemingly unnatural diet. Let’s start with the most obvious one – it’s dirt (literally) cheap. The diet is not complicated to follow unlike others, and is high in nutrients.

You’ll be consuming a lot of fiber, potassium, folate, iron, and vitamin C which are highly important for your health.

The potato diet promotes sustainable weight loss if you don’t stray from the rules. It’s very low on calories so no hitting the gym for a while, but hey, it beats cardio for losing weight.

Daily plan:

Day 1:

  • Breakfast: One boiled potato without any salt added and one glass of yogurt
  • Lunch: Two boiled potatoes without any salt added and one glass of yogurt
  • Dinner: Two glasses of yogurt

Day 2:

  • Breakfast: One glass of yogurt
  • Lunch: Two boiled potatoes without any salt added and one glass of yogurt
  • Dinner: One boiled potato without any salt added and one glass of yogurt

Day 3:

  • Breakfast: One boiled potato without any salt added
  • Lunch: One boiled potato without any salt added and one glass of yogurt
  • Dinner: One glass of yogurt

Important note: Do not, by any chance, confuse French fries with boiled potatoes, as delicious as they seem to you. A boiled potato is healthy food – French fries are absolutely not.

In fact, research puts them atop the worst foods you can eat. They are deep fried and highly dangerous for your health, not to mention the fact that they cause massive weight gain.

Boiled potatoes contain a lot of vitamins and minerals as well as fiber that speeds up your digestion.

There are only 75 calories in 100 gr. of boiled potatoes, which is less of the amount of calories in a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. You don’t even want to know the amount of calories in French fries.
