7 Bad Habits That Slowly Destroy Your Life

Although harmful habits are not easy to break, you should try your best to eliminate them from your life completely. Otherwise, you put your relationships, your job, and your well-being at risk.

We offer you a list of some of the habits that are bad for you, and that you should remove from your life as fast as you can.

1. Procrastination

Do you like the feeling when you delay important tasks for later? Some people find this pretty enjoyable. But when you delay things it is easier for you to forget them.

If you can’t do little things or accomplish small goals, how will you be able to fulfill more important tasks and responsibilities in life? Your attitude towards the little things in life determines the course of your life and therefore has a strong impact on your success.

2. Daydreaming about a perfect future

Researchers say that if you fantasize about a perfect future you will have a lower level of energy which will make you less motivated to work towards achieving your dreams.

Fantasizing is different than envisioning. Visions give you a more clear picture of the things you can do now, and the opportunities that lie behind those actions. Fantasies, on the other hand, give you a picture of something so distant from reality, that it is nearly impossible to act now.

3. Staring at your phone during a conversation

When someone wants to connect with you on a deeper level, and talk to you face to face, never stare at your phone. There is no bigger turn-off than the uncontrollable and excessive use of your phone while being with another person. When you have a conversation, focus entirely on the other person and you will enjoy it much more. People will respect you more and want to hang out with you.

4. Using technology before sleep

Using any kind of technology before bed can harm the quality of your sleep. The blue light emitted from computers, phones, or TVs before going to bed hinders melatonin production. Melatonin is a hormone that triggers sleepiness. That’s why using electronics before bedtime causes you to stay awake for longer, disturbing your circadian rhythm. With time, this bad habit may lead to insomnia and will make you less productive.

5. Blaming others

You cannot live a positive and healthy life if you always blame others for your failures and mistakes. You are the only person that is responsible for your life and your mistakes. When someone hurts you, never allow anger to dwell in you, as it will only prevent you from taking the right steps to achieve your dreams.

Nobody is liked by everyone, so this should never be your goal in life. People pleasers may feel very miserably.

6. Trying to be accepted by everyone

Are you trying to please everyone? If yes, then now is the right time to stop doing that because trying to be accepted by everyone will only make your life miserable. And no one actually likes people pleasers.

Whatever you do to be liked by others, ask yourself is it worth it? If you have to change your values and core beliefs just to be accepted, that means you are not in the right place.

7. Hanging out with people who criticize you

People usually tend to criticize themselves more than they should. That is why we don’t need additional criticism but support and kind words. Stay away from negative people and spend more time with those who will make your life more positive and help you in times of need.
