This combination of these ingredients is a great way to cleanse the body and detoxify. This drink is full of antioxidants and vitamins that will help boost your immune system and fight off illness. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce the risk of diseases such as heart disease and arthritis.
One of the most important properties of this drink is its power in the fight against colds. All of the elements are powerful “fighters” against colds and help to maintain excellent immunity during the winter months.
Why these ingredients?
Honey: Honey is used as a natural sweetener in this drink, and I find it necessary with the garlic and apple vinegar combination. It also has anti-bacterial+viral+fungal capabilities, but it’s the anti-viral component that counts in the fight with colds. It is also useful in treating persistent cough.
Lemon: Lemon adds a pleasant taste while also functioning as an effective anti-viral agent in the drink, complementing the honey’s ability to eliminate viral invaders from your cells.
Apple cider vinegar: The health benefits of apple cider vinegar are almost endless, with some ideas having a stronger scientific foundation than others. The most significant advantage of this drink for me is that it soothes aching throats and relieves congestion. Apple vinegar is very successful at this.
Garlic: It has a variety of names, but its meaning is similar: it will make you smell. The odor is due to the presence of hydrogen sulfate, a gas that has a rotten-eggs smell. Hydrogen sulfate is a deadly poison that can damage the brain and nerve cells, but it’s also found in many foods we eat. In extremely small amounts, hydrogen sulfate is actually beneficial to the body, and we naturally produce some on our own. It has been suggested that this is why it has healing abilities, but the truth is unknown. What’s more, it works wonders in clearing congestion and reducing the duration of a cold.
- 1 lemon
- minimum 4 tbsp raw honey
- 10 peeled cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup of apple vinegar
- 1 or 2 cups of water
Simmer the mashed and peeled garlic in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Then, strain the liquid. Add the apple vinegar + the squeezed lemon + the honey into it and stir well. You should drink this daily, 2 or 3 times.
It can be stored in the refrigerator but not for more than 5 days. You can also gently reheat it before drinking it.
