A Japanese Healing Hand Exercise That Can Work Wonders for Your Emotions

The Orient is widely known for practicing different massage therapies that have been used to treat a variety of health problems for centuries. Ancient Asian therapies are still widely practiced all around the world, treating a range of conditions from asthma to arthritis and stress. Some of these therapies include acupuncture, cupping and scraping, and Jin Shin Jyutsu. The last one is a powerful technique that can provide your body with a powerful shot of energy and improve your emotional state.

Jin Shin Jyutsu works by squeezing or pulling each of your fingers which helps you achieve spiritual and emotional balance. While it sounds like science fiction, it’s a pretty powerful technique that can balance your emotions.

How Does It Work?

According to Oriental medicine, every finger on our hands is connected to a different emotional issue. For example, the thumb is connected to worrying and stress, while the middle finger is connected to anger. Knowing this, it makes perfect sense that working on the fingers can alter the emotional state linked to them.

The Jin Shin Jyutsu technique works by holding the finger that relates to a particular emotion with the opposite hand. Wrap your opposite hand around the selected finger and hold it for 2-5 minutes. You should grab hold of it nicely until you feel energy pulsating through it. The pulse is stronger at the top of the finger. If you find it difficult to find it, go up and down until you feel it. If you don’t feel the pulse after a few minutes, you’re not trying hard enough.

While performing the Jin Shin Jyutsu technique, you should breathe deep and slow. This will help you release all of the built-up tension and emotions. Repeat on every finger every day, and you’ll be looking at a complete emotional harmony.
